Custom Baseball Pants
Pants are the piece most teams did not expect to customize. The side stripe, the pinstripes, even a two-tone leg are printed into a 220 gsm polyester double-knit, so they match the jersey exactly and never fray like sewn tape. A second layer at the knee takes the sliding.

Decoration options
Why the stripe is printed, not sewn
Traditional baseball pants get their stripe from a strip of braid sewn down the side seam. It looks fine new. After a season of slides and hot washes, the stitching loosens and the braid starts to curl at the hem.
Ours are dye-sublimated. The stripe is part of the fabric, so there is no edge to lift, no thread to snap and nothing to peel.
Printing also removes the limits of stock braid. You are not stuck with the six colors a tape supplier carries. Any color in your jersey can run down the leg, in any width.
Three lengths, one price
Every length costs the same, so choose on fit and look. Some youth leagues expect a certain length or sock display, and our page on Little League uniform rules lists what to check.
Knickers are worn with the cuff just below the knee and a long run of team sock showing. Full-length pants should break lightly on the top of the shoe without bunching.
Open-bottom pants run longer still and cover most of the cleat. Players who want that look should order their usual waist size, because the extra length is already built in.
| Style | Where it ends | Who orders it |
|---|---|---|
| Knicker | Below the knee, elastic cuff | Youth leagues, traditional high school programs |
| Full-length | At the shoe, hemmed | Travel ball, adult leagues |
| Open-bottom | Over the shoe, unhemmed | Varsity and older club teams |
How the pants are built
The details below are the same on youth and adult sizes. Small players get the same knee panel and pockets as grown men.
Weight matters on pants more than on jerseys. A lighter fabric looks fine on day one, then goes thin at the knee and see-through at the seat by midseason.
The 220 gsm double-knit has enough body to hang straight from the belt. It also keeps its shape after the elastic has been stretched over a cup and sliding shorts every game.
- 220 gsm polyester double-knit that stays opaque in white
- Double-layer knee panel for sliding and blocking balls in the dirt
- Bar-tacked crotch and pocket corners, the two places pants usually fail first
- Elastic waist with an internal drawstring and seven belt loops
- Two set-in back pockets for batting gloves
- Zip fly with a hook closure
Stripe, piping and pinstripe options
Most teams pick one of four looks. A thin piping line in one color is the quietest. A braid-look stripe, two or three colors side by side, reads classic.
Pinstripes run the full leg and need a matching jersey to make sense. A solid two-tone leg, with one color on the front and another on the back, suits bold travel designs.
Stripe width matters more than people expect. A half-inch line looks sharp on youth knickers. On a 3XL full-length pant, a slightly wider stripe keeps the proportions right, and the proof shows both.
Keep the stripe to colors that already sit in your jersey. A fourth color that only appears on the pants looks like a mistake from the stands.
If you are building a new look from scratch, our walkthrough on how to design a custom baseball jersey covers color choices that carry through to the pants.
Matching the pants to a jersey
Order pants with any of our jerseys and the stripe is taken from the same artwork file. Both print from one color profile, so navy is the same navy top and bottom.
Teams that buy pinstripe baseball jerseys get a pant with the identical stripe width and spacing. The lines read as one continuous pattern from collar to cleat.
Already own jerseys from another maker? Send a photo and the color names you were sold. We match as closely as print allows and show the result on the proof before you pay.
Two-tone raglan jerseys work well with a side panel in the sleeve color. Solid jerseys usually look best with a single piping line in the trim color, so the pants do not compete with the chest.
Sizing pants by the waist
Pants are sized by waist, not by jersey size. Youth YS to YXL cover roughly a 22 to 30 inch waist. Adult S to 3XL cover roughly 28 to 44 inches.
The overlap between YXL and adult small is where most mistakes happen. A tall 12-year-old may need adult length but a youth waist. Measure both.
The elastic and drawstring give a little play either way. For a player between two sizes, choose the larger one and cinch it.
Our full size guide has the measuring steps and the charts for every pant size we make.
Price per pair
Pants start at $37.99 a pair. The stripe, pinstripe or two-tone leg is included, and so is any team color.
If players need jerseys too, the complete jersey and pants set starts at $55.99 per player. That is cheaper than buying the two pieces separately.
Pants count toward the same tier as everything else in the cart. A team of 12 that orders pants and a jersey each has 24 pieces, which moves every item to 10% off.
| Pieces in the cart | Discount | Price per pair |
|---|---|---|
| 10–11 | Base price | $37.99 |
| 12–23 | 5% off | $36.09 |
| 24–47 | 10% off | $34.19 |
| 48–99 | 15% off | $32.29 |
| 100+ | 20% off | $30.39 |

White, grey or a team color
White is the traditional home pant and looks sharp in photos. It also shows every grass stain, so families need to stay on top of the laundry.
Grey is the classic road pant and hides infield dirt. Many youth teams wear grey all season and skip white entirely.
Some programs order two pairs per player: white for home and grey for the road. Both pairs count toward the cart's discount tier, so the second pair often costs less than the first.
Team colors, such as black, navy or maroon, are popular with travel and high school programs. Our high school baseball uniforms often pair a colored pant with a white or grey jersey.
Because every pant is printed, color has no effect on price.
Caring for white pants
Brush off dry dirt before it gets wet. Wet infield clay sets into fabric much faster than dry dust.
Pretreat stains, then wash inside out in cold water and hang to dry. The printed stripe will not fade or crack, but a hot dryer wears out elastic over a season.
Skip bleach on pants with a colored stripe. It does nothing for the stripe and can yellow polyester over time.
Polyester double-knit dries quickly, which helps on tournament weekends with games on back-to-back days. The guide to our jersey and pant fabrics compares the weights we use.
Mistakes to avoid
Most pant problems come down to sizing and color planning. These are the ones we see most often.
- Ordering pants from a jersey size chart instead of measuring the waist.
- Choosing white pants for a team with no reliable laundry plan.
- Picking a stripe color that does not appear anywhere on the jersey.
- Ordering full-length pants for very young players, who trip on hems and outgrow them fast.
- Forgetting belts. They are not included and should be added as a line item.
Custom Baseball Pants: questions answered
How much are custom baseball pants?
From $37.99 a pair at 10 pieces, with the printed stripe or pinstripe included. The price drops to $36.09 at 12 pieces and $30.39 at 100.
Can the stripe match our jersey color exactly?
Yes. The stripe prints from the same file as the jersey trim, so the color is identical.
Which length is best for youth teams?
Knickers. They show the sock, stay out of the dirt and fit a wider range of heights.
Do the pants have real pockets?
Yes, two set-in back pockets with bar-tacked corners.
Are white pants see-through?
No. The 220 gsm double-knit stays opaque in white.
Do the knees hold up to sliding?
The knee has a second layer of fabric. It is built to last a season of travel ball on dirt infields.
Can we get pants in a team color?
Yes. Any team color at the same price, since the fabric is sublimated.
How do pant sizes run?
By waist. Youth YS to YXL cover about 22 to 30 inches, and adult S to 3XL cover about 28 to 44 inches.
