February and March games in Northern California start cold, and travel programs spend a lot of time in hotel lobbies. Two builds to choose from

Every hoodie and crewneck on this page comes in one of two builds. They start at the same $39.99, so the choice is about look and feel, not budget.

The sublimated build is printed edge to edge, so it can carry the whole jersey design, names and numbers. The classic build is a softer cotton-poly fleece with a logo on the chest.

The fabric weights tell the story. At 280 gsm, the sublimated fleece is warm but light enough to throw in. At 320 gsm, the classic fleece is the one you want for sitting in cold bleachers.

How to pick between them

Choose sublimated if you want the hoodie to look like the uniform. Pinstripes, sleeve colors, a number on the back and a player name across the shoulders all print in one pass.

Choose classic fleece if families want something that feels like a store-bought sweatshirt. It is heavier, softer inside and more relaxed, and a stitched chest logo looks good for years.

A common split is sublimated for players and classic fleece for parents. Both builds count toward one discount tier.

Think about who washes it, too. Polyester fleece dries quickly on a hotel shower rod. Cotton-poly takes longer and is happier in a home dryer on low.

Quarter-zip batting cage jackets

Some teams want a layer they can hit in. A hoodie is bulky in the box, and the hood flops around on a swing.

The quarter-zip cage jacket solves that. It is a pullover with a short front zip and no hood, sublimated in team colors like a jersey, with room for a logo, name and number.

Players wear it for cage work, pre-game hitting and cold innings in the dugout. Coaches wear it at third base on a cool night. Pricing is shown on the proof, so you see the per-piece cost before you approve anything.

Cage jackets work well as a coaches' layer for staff who do not want a hood. Order them in the team's darkest color so they read clearly from the bleachers.

You can mix cage jackets and hoodies in one order. Many teams give players a hoodie and coaches a cage jacket from the same design file.

Hoodie details

Both builds share the same basic shape. Small differences, like the zip options, are noted below.

You can lay out the front and back of a sublimated hoodie on Design Your Jerseys, then tell us in the notes that you want it on a hoodie. We move the design onto the hoodie template for your proof.

  • Pullover hood with a drawcord
  • Kangaroo pocket that holds batting gloves or a phone
  • Ribbed cuffs and hem that keep cold air out
  • Crewneck version without the hood at the same price
  • Full-zip available on the classic fleece build, with a small upcharge shown on the proof
  • Player name and number on the back included on the sublimated build
  • Sponsor marks on the back included on either build
  • Youth YS to YXL and adult S to 3XL

Cold weather where your team plays

Early-season baseball in California is colder than people think. Valley fields drop fast after sunset, and coastal parks get damp by the late innings.

Teams around Sacramento can open the season on nights in the 40s. A hoodie over the jersey in the dugout is the difference between a loose arm and a stiff one.

Southern California teams order them too. Desert tournaments are hot at noon and cold after dark, and the hoodie is what players live in between games.

Order hoodies with the uniforms in winter, not after the first cold game. With proof, production and shipping, they need about four weeks to reach you.

Dugout sets

Coaches often order hoodies with baseball practice shirts so warm-ups and cold-weather layers arrive together and share one discount tier.

A practice shirt, an undershirt and a hoodie per player cover almost any weather. Three pieces for a team of 12 is 36 pieces, which puts everything at 10% off.

Order the hoodie one size up if players will wear it over a full uniform. Over just a t-shirt, their normal size is right.

Ask the team parent to check hoodie sizes against last year's sweatshirt for each player. Kids often wear a fleece longer than any other piece, so a little room to grow goes a long way.

Price by quantity

Hoodies, crewnecks and cage jackets count toward the same tier as jerseys and pants in the cart. Parent and sibling hoodies count too.

Cage jackets and full-zip upgrades are priced on the proof, then the cart tier applies to them in the same way.

Ordering hoodies for a whole program

Clubs with several age groups usually gather hoodie sizes during uniform fittings. Our guide to ordering team uniforms in bulk shows how to collect sizes once and order everything together.

  1. Decide on the build for players and for parents.
  2. Pick hoodie, crewneck, full-zip or cage jacket for each group.
  3. Send the logo, colors and one roster with sizes, names and numbers.
  4. Review the proof within 1–2 business days. Revisions are unlimited.
  5. Approve the proof and pay the PayPal invoice we email. We accept PayPal.
  6. Production takes 2–3 weeks, then free US ground shipping in 2–5 business days.

Hoodies for travel weekends

Travel players wear their hoodie more than their jersey. It goes on in the car at 6am, comes off for the first pitch and goes back on in the hotel lobby.

A team in matching hoodies is also easy to count at a crowded complex. Coaches like that more than they admit.

Put the player's number on the back or sleeve even if you skip names. Hoodies get left on bleachers and in dugouts, and a number gets one back to its owner fast.

If you are building a full travel kit, our travel ball uniform checklist lists how many layers each player should pack.

Matching hoodies to the game jersey

The sublimated build prints from your jersey file. Same colors, same script, same number font.

Teams that already ordered team baseball jerseys from us can reorder hoodies in the same design. Just tell us the team name on the earlier order.

For the classic fleece, we pick the closest thread or print color to your team color and show it on the proof.

Keep the hoodie design a step simpler than the jersey. Pinstripes and heavy side panels can look busy across a big hooded body, while a bold chest script and back number always work.

Washing fleece

Wash hoodies inside out in cold water. Turn the sublimated build inside out to protect the face, and the classic fleece to keep the embroidery from catching.

Tumble dry low or hang dry. The cotton-poly fleece can shrink a little in high heat, while the polyester sublimated fleece holds its size.

Avoid ironing either build. Heat on the print side of polyester fleece can leave a shiny patch, and it adds nothing a hanger cannot do.

Between washes, hang hoodies to air out instead of leaving them balled up in a bag. Pair them with our long sleeve baseball undershirts on the coldest nights, and the hoodie stays cleaner because it never touches skin.
