Custom Team Baseball Socks

Item CBJ-SOCKS · Made to order
From $9.99per piece · names & numbers included · 10-piece minimum

Socks are the piece that ties knickers to the jersey. Ours are knitted to order in up to four colors, so the hoops on the calf can match the piping on the pants and the trim on the sleeves. A cushioned foot and heel take the pounding of a doubleheader on dirt.

Knitted, not printed

Most cheap team socks are plain white tubes with a design printed on the outside. The print sits on stretchy fabric, so it cracks and goes pale where the sock stretches most, right over the calf.

Ours are knitted. Each color is its own yarn, worked into the sock on the machine. The stripes are part of the fabric, so there is nothing on the surface to crack, fade or wash off.

Knitting also looks better up close. The stripe edges are crisp, the colors are deep, and the inside of the sock feels the same as the outside.

The knit also affects fit. Because the stripe yarn stretches with the rest of the sock, a hooped calf feels exactly like a plain one. Printed bands can feel stiff by comparison.

Knit styles

Every style below costs the same $9.99 a pair at the base tier. Pick by look and by what your league allows.

Most teams order socks as part of a full kit. Our custom baseball uniforms include jersey and pants per player, and socks are added per player in the same cart.

How the socks are made

The build is the same for every size and every style. Youth socks get the same cushioning as adult socks.

Over-the-calf height matters for catchers in particular. Shin guards sit over the sock, and a sock that ends below the guard strap leaves skin exposed to rubbing.

The nylon in the blend is there for durability. Heels and toes are where cleats and dirt wear socks out first, and nylon holds up in those spots far better than plain polyester.

  • Polyester and nylon blend with a little spandex for stretch
  • Cushioned terry foot and heel for long days on hard dirt
  • Smooth toe seam that does not rub inside a cleat
  • Ribbed top that stays up without a garter
  • Knee-high, finishing just below the knee
  • Up to four knitted colors, with no print to fade

Sizes by shoe size

Socks are sized by shoe size, not by jersey size. A tall 12-year-old in an adult jersey may still be in a youth sock, and a small adult may need the medium.

If a player sits right on the line, choose by calf rather than foot. A sock that is too short on a long calf will not reach the knicker cuff.

Need the full measuring steps for the rest of the uniform? The size guide covers jerseys and pants as well.

Mixing sizes across one order is normal. A 12U team might need eight Youth pairs, three M and one L, all in the same design.

Sock sizeShoe sizeUsually fits
Youth13Y–4Most 6U to 12U players
M4–8Older youth and smaller adults
L8–12Most high school and adult players
XL12–15Large adult feet

Matching socks to pants and jersey

Socks show most with knickers. Order them with custom baseball pants and the hoops can be matched to the pant piping color.

Send us the pant or jersey colors and the knit colors are matched on the proof. Yarn colors are not identical to printed colors, so we pick the closest yarn and show it before you approve.

A simple rule works well: solid sock in the main color, hoops in the trim color. Fewer bands look cleaner on small players.

Hoops and stirrups

Hooped socks and the stirrup look are classic baseball. They suit teams that wear knickers and want the calf to carry some color.

If your uniform leans old-school, our vintage and retro baseball jerseys pair naturally with a two-band hooped sock or a knitted stirrup.

The stirrup is knitted into the sock, so there is no second layer to pull on. Players get the look of a sanitary sock and a stirrup in one piece.

Two bands look best on youth socks, where the calf is short. Adults can carry three bands, or one wide band with a thin stripe either side.

A stirrup look needs a white or light base to read properly. On a dark base, the stirrup cut-out disappears from the stands.

Socks for youth leagues

Youth leagues are where team socks matter most. Knickers leave a long run of calf showing, and mismatched store-bought socks stand out in the team photo.

Some leagues also ask that every player wear the same sock color, or that socks be visible below the pant. Our page on Little League uniform rules explains what to check with your league before you order.

Young players lose socks constantly. Budget one spare pair for every three or four players, and keep them in the coach's bag for game days.

Kids also move between sizes quickly. A 9-year-old near the top of the youth range may be in an M by the next spring, so check shoe sizes in the weeks before you order, not from last season's list.

Price per pair

Socks count toward the same discount tier as every other piece in the cart. A team ordering uniforms and socks together often jumps a tier.

Example: 12 uniform sets plus 12 pairs of socks is 24 pieces. That puts the socks at $8.99 a pair and lowers the set price too.

Because socks are inexpensive, they are the easiest way to reach the next tier. If your order is sitting at 22 pieces, two pairs of spare socks move every item in the cart to 10% off.

Youth programs dressing a whole division can combine socks with youth baseball uniforms in one order. Everything ships together, and split delivery to several coaches is free.

Logos and numbers on the calf

A small knitted logo or number on the calf is possible on orders of 48 pairs or more. Below that, stripes and solid colors are the options.

Keep a calf logo simple. Knitting works in small blocks of color, so a bold initial or a two-digit number knits far better than a detailed crest.

Clubs often reach 48 pairs by ordering socks for every team in one go. A league dressing several Little League uniforms at once usually gets there quickly.

If you are under 48 pairs, use color to identify the team instead. A distinctive three-band pattern in your colors is recognizable from across a complex.

Ordering socks

Socks can be ordered on their own, 10 pairs minimum, or added to any uniform order. For a mixed order, request a free quote and list the pairs per size.

Send sock counts on the same roster as the uniforms. One line per player with jersey size, pant size and sock size avoids a second round of questions.

  1. Pick a knit style and up to four colors.
  2. Count pairs by size: Youth, M, L and XL.
  3. Send the pant or jersey colors you want to match.
  4. Check the proof, which arrives in 1–2 business days.
  5. Approve it and pay the PayPal invoice we email. We accept PayPal.
  6. Socks are made in 2–3 weeks and ship free with the rest of the order.

Summer tournaments and care

The standard sock is a mid-weight athletic knit with a cushioned foot. For desert tournaments in high summer, ask for the lighter knit.

Wash socks inside out with the uniform in cold water. Knitted colors do not fade, but turning them inside out keeps the terry foot from pilling.

Skip bleach, even on white socks. It weakens spandex, and the ribbed top loses its grip on the calf long before the rest of the sock wears out.

Order a spare pair or two for each team. Socks go missing on tournament weekends faster than anything else in the bag.
