Sleeveless Baseball Jerseys
A sleeveless jersey, or vest, is worn over a colored undershirt. The team can switch looks by changing the shirt underneath: white sleeves at home, black on the road. It is the lightest game jersey we make, and it suits travel programs heading to summer tournaments in Arizona and Las Vegas.

The vest cut
Armholes are bound with a 2 cm self-fabric trim in a solid or printed color. The body is the same 160 gsm interlock as our other jerseys.
The neck comes as a crew, a V or a full-button front. We cut the armhole a little deeper than a basketball jersey, so a compression shirt sits flat underneath.
The shoulder strap is wider than on a running vest. That keeps the jersey sitting square on the shoulders when a player throws, instead of sliding toward the neck.
The bottom hem is straight and sits at the same length as our pullover jerseys. Worn tucked, it stays in through a swing. Worn out, it covers the belt line.
Binding color is the detail most teams overlook. It frames the arms in every photo, so pick it with the undershirt colors in mind.
A full-button vest looks the most formal. A crew vest looks the most athletic, and the V sits between them.
- Crew, V-neck or full-button front
- Bound armholes in a trim color
- Full chest, back and name sublimation
- Pairs with our long-sleeve shirts in any color
- Names, numbers, logo and sponsor marks included
One vest, two looks
The undershirt does the work that a second jersey would do. A white vest over navy sleeves is one uniform. The same vest over white sleeves is another.
That cuts the cost of a home and away set. Our long sleeve shirts start at $26.99, less than a second sublimated jersey, and players carry one jersey to a weekend tournament instead of two.
Plan both looks before the proof. The vest colors that work with navy sleeves may clash with red ones. We can show both combinations side by side on the proof so the board sees what players will wear.
| Vest color | Undershirt | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| White | Team color sleeves | Home games and day games |
| White | Black or navy sleeves | Road games with a darker look |
| Team color | White sleeves | Bright, high-contrast option for photos |
| Team color | Matching color sleeves | Looks like a solid jersey from the stands |
| Grey | Team color sleeves | Throwback road look |
Sleeve shirts to go with it
Order long sleeve baseball shirts in one or two colors with the vests, and players carry one jersey and two looks. The shirts count toward the same quantity discount as the vests.
The sleeve color on the shirts is printed from the same color file as the vest trim. Navy on the arms matches navy at the armhole binding.
Short-sleeve undershirts work too. Plenty of teams wear short sleeves in July and switch to long sleeves for spring night games.
Order undershirts in the same sizes as the vests, not a size smaller. A tight undershirt bunches at the armhole and pulls the vest out of shape.
Undershirts get washed more often than vests, so order one or two extra in the most-used color.
Heat and the sleeveless jersey
Sleeveless vests are the standard answer to 100°F tournament days in the Central Valley and the desert. Expect a vest to dry in a few minutes between innings.
Teams from Stockton and the Central Valley play much of their summer schedule in that kind of heat. A vest over a light undershirt is the coolest uniform you can field with sleeves still on every arm.
For the most airflow, ask for the 140 gsm lighter interlock on the body. It costs the same.
Sunscreen is the other heat problem. Players apply it to bare shoulders and arms before games, and it rubs onto the armhole binding. Rinse the vests the same day to keep the trim from yellowing.
Keep water and shade in mind too. A cooler jersey helps, but nothing replaces a cold drink in the dugout between innings.
League rules for vests
Most youth leagues allow vests over an undershirt. Some require pitchers to wear sleeves in a non-distracting color, and some set rules on undershirt colors for the whole team.
Check before a whole roster goes sleeveless. Our notes on Little League uniform rules list the questions to ask your league board.
Getting answers in writing helps. A short email from the league's equipment manager settles any question an umpire raises on game day.
- Ask whether vests are allowed in your division.
- Ask whether undershirts must match across the team.
- Ask whether pitchers need a particular sleeve color.
- Confirm rules on front numbers and patch placement.
- Order vests and undershirts together once the answers are in.
Keep a few sleeved jerseys
Some leagues require sleeves for pitchers. Even where they do not, a pitcher sometimes prefers a jersey with sleeves on cold evenings.
A few two-button baseball jerseys in the same design cover that. We print them from the vest artwork, so they look like part of the same uniform.
Two or three sleeved jerseys are usually enough for a 12-player roster. They count toward the same 10-piece minimum and discount tier as the vests.
Sizing over an undershirt
Chest sizes are the same as our sleeved jerseys. Because the vest sits over an undershirt, most players keep their normal size.
Players who wear a thick long-sleeve shirt in cold weather may want one size up. The armhole should not pinch the undershirt when the arm is raised.
Youth sizes run YS to YXL and adult runs S to 3XL in one order. The armhole depth is scaled for each size, so small players do not get gaping openings.
Measure a player wearing the undershirt they plan to use, then compare with our youth and adult jersey size guide. That is the most reliable way to size a vest.
Team pricing
Names, numbers, logo and sponsor marks are included. There are no setup, art or per-color fees.
The tier counts every piece in the cart. Vests, undershirts, pants and socks all add up together.
A typical order for 12 players with a vest and one undershirt each is 24 pieces. That reaches the 10% tier, so each vest comes to $29.69.
| Pieces | Discount | Per vest |
|---|---|---|
| 10 to 11 | Base | $32.99 |
| 12 to 23 | 5% | $31.34 |
| 24 to 47 | 10% | $29.69 |
| 48 to 99 | 15% | $28.04 |
| 100+ | 20% | $26.39 |
Travel and adult teams
Travel teams like the vest because it packs small and dries overnight in a hotel room. A full summer kit with pants is laid out on our travel ball uniform sets page.
Adult leagues often go for a full-button sleeveless front. It is a classic look, and it keeps older players cool without giving up the feel of a traditional uniform.
Vests also take sponsor marks well. With no sleeves, the back below the number becomes the main sponsor spot, and it reads clearly from the stands.
For a long tournament weekend, two vests per player plus three undershirts gives enough changes for five games without a wash.
Full-button vests for adult leagues
A full-button vest uses the same placket build as our button-up jersey. The front is printed in one piece and the placket is cut afterwards, so the lettering lines up across the buttons.
Men's leagues and wood-bat teams order this cut most. Our adult league baseball jerseys page covers sizes up to 4XL and team packages for Sunday leagues.
Buttons or snaps both work on a vest. Buttons suit the traditional adult look, while snaps are quicker for players who change between games of a doubleheader.
What to check before ordering
Vests have a few details that sleeved jerseys do not. These are the ones to look at on the proof.
Many teams finish the look with custom baseball socks in the trim color. Socks come in Youth, M, L and XL and count toward the same tier.
When everything checks out, approve the proof and we email the PayPal invoice. Production starts once it is paid.
- The armhole trim color works with both undershirt colors you plan to wear
- Front numbers sit clear of the armhole, not wrapping toward the side
- Sponsor marks are on the back or the chest, since there are no sleeves
- The undershirt order is placed at the same time as the vests
- One or two sleeved jerseys are in the order if your pitchers need them
- Socks in the trim color are on the order, if you want the full look
Sleeveless Baseball Jerseys: questions answered
Are sleeveless jerseys allowed in youth leagues?
Most youth leagues allow vests over an undershirt. Some require pitchers to wear sleeves in a non-distracting color, so check with your league before ordering.
How much are sleeveless jerseys?
From $32.99 per piece at 10 pieces with names, numbers and logo included. It drops to $31.34 at 12 pieces and $26.39 at 100.
What undershirt should we wear with it?
A fitted long-sleeve or short-sleeve shirt in a team color. We make long sleeve baseball shirts that match the vest's colors.
Can the armhole trim be a different color?
Yes. Solid trim, printed trim or piping all cost the same.
Does it come in a full-button front?
Yes. A full-button sleeveless is a classic look and is popular with adult leagues.
How does sizing differ from a sleeved jersey?
Chest sizes are the same. Because it sits over an undershirt, most players keep their normal size.
Can I mix vests and sleeved jerseys in one order?
Yes. Any mix counts toward the 10-piece minimum and the discount tier.
Do you print numbers on the front?
Yes. Front numbers, back numbers and names are all included.
How long until delivery?
The proof comes in 1 to 2 business days. Production takes 2 to 3 weeks after approval and payment, then free shipping takes 2 to 5 business days.
How is payment handled?
Once you approve the proof, a PayPal invoice arrives by email. We accept PayPal, and production starts when it is paid.
Where do sponsor logos go on a vest?
Usually on the back below the number, or on the chest opposite the team logo. There are no sleeves, so sleeve sponsor spots move to the body.
Is a vest cooler than a V-neck jersey?
Yes, because the arms are only covered by a thin undershirt. On the hottest days some players wear a short-sleeve undershirt under the vest for extra airflow.
