Sublimated Baseball Jerseys

Item CBJ-SUBLIMATED · Made to order
From $32.99per piece · names & numbers included · 10-piece minimum

Every jersey we make is sublimated, but this page is for teams who want to use the process fully. Think gradients from shoulder to hem, a city skyline across the back, a sponsor wall on the sleeve, or a design a parent drew in Canva. If it can be printed, it can be a jersey, and the price does not change with the number of colors.

How sublimation works

The design is printed in reverse on transfer paper with sublimation ink. The paper is then pressed against white polyester at about 400°F.

The heat turns the ink to gas, and it bonds with the fiber. The color becomes part of the fabric rather than a layer on top.

That is why a sublimated jersey has no hand-feel over the print and no cracking. It weighs the same everywhere, whether a panel is solid black or plain white.

One limit follows from the process. Sublimation only works on white or very light polyester, because the ink dyes the fiber rather than covering it. That is why every jersey starts white and gets its color in the press.

It also explains why a white stripe or a white number never looks grey. There is no white ink. The white is simply fabric the ink did not touch.

  • No limit on colors, gradients or photographic detail
  • Every jersey in the order can carry a different name and number
  • Fine detail holds at 1 mm, so small sponsor text stays legible
  • White areas are the fabric itself, so whites stay bright

Sublimation compared with other methods

Coaches often ask how this compares with screen printing or stitched twill. The short answer is that sublimation wins on color and comfort, and twill wins on a traditional stitched look.

If your program wants raised letters, our embroidered and twill baseball jerseys cover that option. Twill adds time, so production runs 3 to 4 weeks.

Some teams combine both. A sublimated body with stitched twill numbers gives a traditional front and back with a fully printed pattern on the sleeves.

Design services that are included

Send a finished file and we check it for print. Send a sketch, a screenshot of a jersey you like, or a paragraph describing it, and our designers build the artwork and show you a proof.

Revisions are free until you are happy. We redraw logos in vector if the only copy you have is a low-resolution image.

If you would rather start from a layout, our Design Your Jerseys builder page lets you try colors and layouts before you order.

Tell us what you do not want, too. A note like "no gradients, keep it clean" saves a full round of revisions.

Fade-to-black bodies with white numbers, split-color fronts, camo sleeves on a solid body and city-themed backs are the designs we make most for California teams.

If you want a traditional look with the same fabric, the plain custom baseball jerseys page covers solid colors and simple trims.

Any of these can be toned down. A fade can run from navy to a slightly darker navy, which looks rich in person and still reads as one color from the stands.

  • Vertical fade from team color at the shoulders to black at the hem
  • Split front with one color on each side of the chest
  • Skyline or mountain line printed across the lower back
  • Pattern inside the numbers, such as a stripe, a texture or a flag
  • Sponsor marks arranged as a wall on one sleeve

Camo and patterns

Patterns are where sublimation shows what it can do. A woodland or digital camo, a heather texture or a subtle tonal print costs the same as a solid color.

Patterns work best on sleeves or yokes, where they frame the chest without fighting the logo. Our camo baseball jerseys page has examples in team colors, not only greens and browns.

Keep a pattern lower in contrast than the numbers. If the camo has the same light tone as the numbers, the numbers vanish.

Getting gradients and photos right

Gradients print smoothly, but a few things affect the result. Very light pastel tones print slightly lighter than they look on screen. The proof accounts for this.

Photos print well when the source image is large. A picture taken from social media is usually too small for a full back. Send the original file from the camera or phone.

Long gradients across a seam need planning. A fade that runs from the front to the back is printed on separate panels, so we match the start and end tones at the side seam on the proof.

  1. Send the largest file you have, ideally the original photo or vector logo.
  2. Mark the colors that must match exactly, such as a school's primary color.
  3. Tell us which elements must stay crisp, such as sponsor text.
  4. Review the proof at full size on a laptop, not only on a phone.
  5. Ask for a second proof if a gradient feels too sudden or too soft.

Matching school and league colors

Send a Pantone code or a photo of an existing jersey in daylight. We calibrate the proof to it, and the printed jersey matches closely.

Some colors are easy and some are tricky. Navy, red and black match well. Neon tones and very pale blues are harder, because screens show colors that ink cannot fully reach. We flag those on the proof.

Programs with several teams in one color family, like a Los Angeles club running six age groups, keep one master color file. Our Los Angeles team uniform page covers delivery to fields across the county.

Grey is the color that surprises people most. A grey on screen can print slightly warm or cool, so if grey matters to your uniform, send a photo of the grey you want next to a white sheet of paper.

Team pricing

A dark, full-coverage jersey costs the same as a mostly white one. Names, numbers, logo and sponsor marks are included, with no setup, art or per-color fees.

Discounts are based on the total pieces in the order.

Production takes 2 to 3 weeks after the invoice is paid, and shipping is free. Delivery windows and split shipments are explained on our shipping and returns page.

Full-coverage designs do not add time. A jersey with a photo back and a fade body prints in the same pass as a plain one.

Cuts and fabrics

Sublimation works on every cut we make: crew, V-neck, two-button, full-button and sleeveless. The standard body is 160 gsm polyester interlock.

Hot-weather teams can choose 140 gsm lighter interlock or add 130 gsm micro-mesh side panels. All of them take the same print, so a fade on the body continues into a mesh panel.

Sublimation is also used on our pants, socks and practice shirts. Ordering them together means the colors come from one file and match closely across every piece.

One design across a whole club

Clubs that run several teams often use one sublimated template and change only the colors or the age group. That keeps the look consistent while letting each team stand out.

Our team baseball jerseys for clubs page explains how to set up multiple rosters in one order and reach a higher discount tier.

Most teams keep one design for everyone. But because names and numbers already change per jersey, colors and graphics can change too if you want them to.

A common setup is one template, one color per age group, and the club crest on every sleeve. Parents can tell the teams apart at a glance, and the club still looks like one program.

Planning a full-coverage design

A good full-sublimation jersey still needs a clear hierarchy. Our guide on how to design a custom baseball jersey walks through it step by step.

Start with the number and the team name. Then add the pattern, the fade or the skyline around them. Designs that start with the background often end up with numbers nobody can read.

Leave breathing room around the number. A gap of about an inch between the number and any busy pattern keeps it readable from the dugout and the scorebook.

Finally, look at the back from across a room. If you cannot read the name and number from ten feet away on a screen, nobody will read it from the stands.

Sublimated Baseball Jerseys: questions answered

Is sublimation better than screen printing for baseball jerseys?

For team jerseys, yes. Screen printing adds a layer of ink that can crack and limits you to a few colors, while sublimation has no layer and unlimited colors.

Can each player have a different design?

Yes. Names and numbers already change per jersey, and colors and graphics can too, though most teams keep one design for a uniform look.

Does a dark jersey cost more?

No. The price is per jersey regardless of ink coverage.

Can you print photos or complex artwork?

Yes. Detail holds at about 1 mm. Very light pastel tones print slightly lighter than on screen, and the proof accounts for this.

What file do you need from us?

Anything. Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG, PDF) are ideal, and PNG, JPG, a phone photo or a sketch all work because we redraw as needed.

Will the print feel stiff?

No. There is no ink layer, so the jersey feels the same across the print and the plain areas.

How much do sublimated jerseys cost?

From $32.99 per jersey at 10 pieces with names, numbers and logo included. It drops to $31.34 at 12 pieces and $26.39 at 100.

Can you match our school's exact colors?

Send a Pantone code or a photo of an existing jersey. We calibrate the proof to it, and the printed jersey matches closely.

How long does the design stage take?

The first proof comes within 1 to 2 business days of your order. Most teams approve within one or two rounds.

How do we pay?

By PayPal invoice after proof approval. We accept PayPal, and nothing is charged at checkout.

Can a Canva design be printed?

Yes. Export it at the largest size Canva allows, as a PDF or PNG, and we check it for print. If anything is too small or blurry, we redraw it.

Will neon colors print as bright as on screen?

Not quite. Neon and very pale tones are hard for any ink to reach, so we flag them on the proof and suggest the closest printable shade.
